Bulk actions allow you to update multiple contacts simultaneously. This functionality is useful for changes that affect large groups of contacts.
Available actions
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Update playbook | Move contacts to a specific playbook and stage |
| Update field | Change the value of a custom field |
| Update assignment | Assign or unassign contacts to a salesperson |
| Delete | Delete multiple contacts |
How to select contacts
Contacts are selected using advanced filters, not individual selection:
- Apply filters by name, company, email, assignee, playbook, etc.
- Combine conditions with AND/OR operators
- All contacts meeting the conditions will be affected
Example filter: Playbook = "Sales" AND Stage = "Contacted" AND Assignee = "Unassigned"
How to execute a bulk action
- Go to the Contacts section
- Apply filters to select the target contacts
- Click Bulk actions
- Select the action to perform
- Configure the action parameters
- Confirm the operation
Batch processing
Bulk actions are processed in batches of 50 contacts:
- If you have 200 contacts, they will be processed in 4 batches
- Each batch has a 15-second interval
- Progress can be tracked in the history
Action history
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Started | The action is in progress |
| Completed | All contacts were processed |
| Error | A problem occurred during execution |
The history shows how many contacts were updated, how many matched the filter, and when the operation started.
Required permissions
To execute bulk actions you need:
- "Bulk contact update" permission
- Contact management permission (own or all)
Limitations
- No individual contact selection (only by filters)
- Actions are executed in the background
- If a contact fails, the operation continues with the rest
- Contacts that stop matching the filter during processing are not reprocessed
Conclusion
Bulk actions are a powerful tool for managing large volumes of contacts. Use precise filters to ensure only the right contacts are affected and check the history to confirm the operation completed correctly.
