The AI sales agent now distinguishes between two different reasons for ending a conversation, so a contact that's still valid isn't mistakenly marked as lost.
1. What changes
Before, whenever the AI couldn't complete its objective, it closed the conversation the same way every time, which could incorrectly mark a still-valid lead as lost. Now there are two distinct paths:
- Contact Discarded: the contact has no interest, gave a wrong number, or is clearly irrelevant. The contact moves to the lost state, as before.
- Objective Not Met: the AI couldn't complete its objective, but the contact is still valid. The contact is NOT marked as lost — it moves to a different step, and stays active in the pipeline.
2. When "Objective Not Met" applies
- The contact asks to speak with a person.
- The contact won't share their data without more information first.
- The AI doesn't have enough information to answer the contact's initial questions.
3. Per-objective setting
In the AI's configuration, within each status/objective, there's an "Allow the AI to discard the contact" toggle (off by default). When it's off, the AI never uses the "Contact Discarded" path for that objective — any discard attempt is treated as "Objective Not Met" instead.
📸 Screenshot pending: the "Allow the AI to discard the contact" toggle in the agent's settings. Will be added once available.
Conclusion
A contact who simply isn't ready to move forward is no longer lost by mistake — it's only marked as lost when it's genuinely not interested.
